The HayJac House, your home away from home.
We purchased this home in 2016 and rescued it from its neglected state. We were interested in this home because it was the right size and the perfect location for us when we decide to down size in the future. Until then, we hope you will enjoy and care for it as much as we do.
Since this will be our future home, we have added several amenities that you usually don’t find in rental property, and all for your added pleasure. You won’t see these amenities but you will enjoy them. This heavily insulated home with dense foam creates a very quiet, cozy and comfortable home. Even the interior walls have been insulated to reduce potential noise in the bedrooms for your added comfort. The whole house water filtration system will make your food, your coffee and even a simple glass of water taste their very best. The heated floor in the master bath will add an extra touch of comfort to your tootsies in the winter months and put a smile on your face.
The master bedroom is like no other. Let's start with the master bed. This split king can be adjusted to fit most situations. Reading, working or simply watching TV, you can adjust your head and/or your feet to your most comfortable position. The master closet is larger than some bedrooms with lots of storage. The master bath offers a large walk-in shower with multiple massage jets. There is a comfortable claw foot soaker tub for you to enjoy some quiet comfort with a glass of wine. The three porches and one patio give you lots of choices to enjoy the outdoors.
If you just want to spend a quiet evening enjoying a good movie, make sure to bring your Username and Password for your favorite internet movie provider (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Roku etc). I have decided to take a different approach by not having standard cable TV, but instead use high speed internet to stream hundreds of choices at the time you want to see a program. The free internet connection is done through the more secure Norton Core high speed router. If all these conveniences go away due to an unexpected power failure, not to worry. We have installed a backup generator for the entire house.

"Jim & Gina's home is everything the reviews reflect! As so many others have stated - the luxurious touches everywhere are outstanding! The spaces are designed elegantly yet with comfort in mind. The touches include items you realize how much you miss in most Air BnB homes like a lemon juicer, cutting boards, baggies, laundry supplies, towel racks that are gorgeous, well-placed toothpaste and hair spray in each bathroom, lovely bath supplies, enough thick luscious towels to feel like you are in a 5-star penthouse hotel...and the details keep going! Fantastic glassware of any kind for your drink of choice, heated master bathroom floor, the master bathroom shower had a dozen jets on it and the claw foot tub was an especially nice touch. The exterior camera system is the 'right' way to do cameras at an Air BnB - where they actually showed - you, the guest - what was happening outside vs. broadcasting to an unknown audience outside of the home (with no idea what the cameras are actually observing). The kitchen, master bedroom, closet and bathroom were so inspirationally designed that we took notes for our own remodel! Major bonus for us was an absolutely fantastic brewery, Scout and Scholar, literally shares the backyard fence with the home and we LOVED it. We are been snobs and this place was true quality - from the food, beer and service and, of course, proximity. This home was like moving right into a beautiful home designed by a professional interior designer. Everything is walkable and Bardstown is charming and wonderful. we will absolutely be back!"

"You may consider my title to be "over the top." But I don't think so. First, the owners spared no time, effort, or expense in renovating this vintage jewel in what was recently voted "The Most Beautiful Small Town in America." The craftsmanship and decor are exquisite. The high-end kitchen furnishings are beautifully matched and in excellent condition. The bed linens are very pretty and comfortable. Bath towels are thick and plentiful. And your MaMa would give HayJac House an A+ for cleanliness. Beyond the beauty and comfort of the accommodations, Bardstown and the surrounding area are chock full of museums, fine and fun restaurants, distillery tours, and really cute shops, many within an easy walk from the house. I have no problem classifying HayJac House as the Ritz Carlton of small vacation rentals. If you think that's too "over the top," may I suggest you come see for yourself...then decide."
